To sharpen my translation skills I’ve decided to enrol in a 3 month distance learning translation course.
Run by the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, the course began in January and ends in March 2011
The aim of the course is to give translators the chance to enhance their skills by working with other translators with extensive experience in the industry. Modules cover:
• translation literacy
• word processing skills
• computer management and business tips
I’ve also been allocated a mentor, a generalist French to English translator who also translates for the tourism sector.
Every week I’ll post a new blog entry, sharing what I’ve learned from the previous module.
So in my next post I’ll start by looking at the specialisation module.
